What is the Small Claims Court ?

The Small Claims Court is a branch of the County Court intended to deal with claims which normally are less than £5,000.00 ( £1,000.00 in personal injury cases ). The Court is intended to encourage claimants to deal with the matter themselves and, therefore, even if you are successful you will not usually obtain an order that your opponent will pay your costs.
