What are the grounds for divorce ?

There is only one ground for a divorce, that is the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage. However that breakdown does have to be proven based on one of five facts:

• Adultery
• Unreasonable Behaviour
• Desertion
• Two Years Separation with Consent
• Five Years Separation (No consent required)
