Pearsons & Ward Sponsor the Great Annual Michaelmas Sheep Show

Pearsons & Ward Solicitors are delighted to have sponsored the 2018 Great Annual Michaelmas Show & Sale of Breeding Sheep at Malton Market on Friday 5th October.   Hazel Anyon, Agricultural Solicitor and Andrew Little, Commercial Property Solicitor, attended the event to present the Rosettes to the champions.

Hazel Anyon commented “Pearsons & Ward is committed to supporting local farmers and businesses in the area and the sponsorship of the Show is a great example of this”.

Andrew Little added “This Show is a large event for the local community and we are delighted that Pearsons & Ward have been involved”.

Mr. G. R. Marson from Nafferton, Driffield who has been judging for over 50 years had the difficult task of the day choosing the winners in the competitive classes:

The W.A. Cundall Perputal Challenge Cup for the best Pedigree Texel Shearling Ram in the show was awarded to J & R M Lucas & Son of Fimber and sold for 620 guineas to W H & D M Curtis, Kirkbymoorside.  Mr. Lucas said “I have been farming Texel sheep since in 1948 and best thing about keeping Texels is their good skin, good meat and tremendous gigot!”
The Boulton & Cooper Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the best Charollais Shearling Ram in the show was awarded to Tom & Juliet Hunter of Hunmanby, Scarborough, which was later sold for 620 guineas to C Buckton, Rise.

The R Farnell Memorial Trophy for the best Suffolk Shearling Ram in the show was awarded to Mark Bulmer from Salton near Kirkbymoorside, for his outstanding Suffolk Ram which was later sold for 460 guineas to P. Lockey, Sheffield.
